Pere Bruna, professor of the Research Group on Characterization of Materials (GCM), was proposed by Ignasi Casanova, president of the Institut de Tècniques Energètiques (INTE, Institute of Energy Techniques), as deputy director to the board of the institute last March. The board and the commission accepted his nomination that became effective on March 22, 2019.

As deputy director, Pere Bruna, will take part in the decision making of an institute created in 1971, whose main functions are research and technology transfer, organized into four programs that include areas of expertise in ionizing radiation, catalysis and development of materials for energy and environmental applications, physics with neutrons and particle accelerators.

In addition to the research laboratories, the Institute has accredited laboratories that provide calibration services for detectors and radiochemical analysis of environmental samples.

We wish Pere Bruna all the luck in his new position.
