Daniel López-Codina moderates debate at the second Omid Kokabee Conference on Science, Peace and Human Rights on April 11

On Thursday April 11, 2019 the Campus of the UPC in the Baix Llobregat of Castelldefels holds the second day OMID KOKABEE OF SCIENCE, PEACE AND HUMAN RIGHTS organized by the International Catalan Institute for Peace, the City Council of Castelldefels, the City Council Sant Boi de Llobregat and the Center for Cooperation for Development of the UPC.

Daniel López-Codina, professor of the research group in Computational Biology and Complex Systems BIOCOM-SC, will moderate the conference "Situation of research and human rights, around the world" by Michelle Catanzaro, doctor in computational and applied physics, and scientific journalist, followed by a debate with Jordi Armadans from FundiPau and Eva Vidal, director of the Center for Cooperation for Development at the UPC. This conference will be held in the Assembly Hall of the EETAC at 5:00 p.m.


The workshop will also have a debate at 12:00 o'clock in the morning at classroom 028-2 of the EETAC on "What can universities do for Human Rights and Pau" moderated by Eva Vendrell of the Center for Development Cooperation of the UPC with three speakers: Gemma Fargas, vice-rector for Social Responsibility and Equality at UPC; Xavier Burgués. UPC professor who has been president of Amnesty International Catalonia and Jordi Urgell of the School Culture for Peace in the UAB.
